1960s 14k Gold Filigree and Enamel Butterfly Brooch with Emeralds
A fancy 14k gold filigree brooch that will inspire anyone's heart to flutter. This winged treasure from the 1960s features blue and green enamel over a swirling pattern of gold filigree. Two prong set emeralds adorn the butterfly's antennas and a twisted wire texture covers the butterfly's gold abdomen. In spite of the brooch's miniature scale, its opulent details make it quite grand. Don’t let this whimsical creature fly away!
The brooch is in very good vintage condition. There is a tiny spot of filigree loss on the bottom right wing (see photo of back of brooch). However, it is positioned under the top right wing which makes it hardly visible. The brooch measures 1 1/8" at its widest wingspan by 7/8" long. The emeralds measure approximately 2mm. There is a makers mark "SJ" and it is hallmarked "14K". Weighs 4.8 grams.
