1960s 14K Gold, Cultured Pearl and Sapphire Basket Weave Cocktail Ring
The cocktail ring was invented during prohibition, when cocktails were status symbols that women began to complement with bigger-than-life rings. Concocted during the 1960s, this high-fashion 14k gold cocktail ring combines a domed basket weave design with a large pearl surrounded by sapphires. The look is lavish and fun. Whether sipping a beer or martini, we think it a sin not to enjoy this dazzling cocktail ring.
The ring is size 6 ½ and can be resized. Crafted in 14k gold, the piece is set with a large round cultured pearl measuring 9 mm and surrounded by 8 deep blue sapphires, .40cts total weight. The basket weave design measures 1" by 3/4" and sits approximately ¾” atop the finger. It is in very good vintage condition with some normal wear to the nacre of the pearl (see photos) and marked: 14k. It weighs 10.1 grams.
