1930s Sterling Silver and Turquoise Spider Brooch
This itsy bitsy spider has survived roughly 80 years! From Evelyn Brent to Mae West’s spider goddess gowns, spiders were on trend in 30s haute couture and we can see this pin fitting right in. Dated to the 1930s, the spider in its web is crafted in sterling silver and features an oval bezel set turquoise as the spider’s abdomen. The piece has a natural patina indicative of its age and a wonderful handmade quality.
The brooch is in excellent vintage condition. It is hallmarked sterling on the body of the spider. The brooch measures approximately 7/8” in diameter. The turquoise is approximately 5mm wide and 7mm long.
