1920s "Ruby" Czech Glass Gilt Brass Flapper Necklace with Snake and Filigree
Bewitchingly beautiful, this 1920s Czech glass and gilt brass necklace boasts blood red beads and an abundance of intricate filigree work. Elaborate construction and rich color make this necklace sing! The centerpiece is a bezel set faceted glass oval encircled by a serpent and set in a large filigree plaque. A pair of concentric rings-- one glass and one twisted wire-- connect the chain to the drop. We're captivated by every inch of this show-stopping sautoir: from the filigree drops that descend from the centerpiece to the bell caps that hug the ends of the oblong beads. In very good vintage condition; there is minor wear to a few of the beads further up on the chain. These are only visible under very close examination and do not detract from this stunning necklace. The chain measures 30" and the pendant measure 6 1/2" (from two concentric rings to bottom of filigree dangle), giving a total length of 36 1/2". The filigree centerpiece measures 1 3/4" by 1 1/2".
