1920s Czech Glass and Gilt Brass Scarab Egyptian Revival Bib Necklace
Bedeck your neck with the Ancient Egyptian symbol of renewal in this 1920s Czech glass scarab bib necklace. Green glass scarab beads dangle off a gilt brass curb link chain. The chain links are patterned on one half and plain on the other. Each scarab is detailed on the back with tiny hieroglyphic symbols and finished with a shiny gilt brass bead. The painted details on the scarab glass beads would indicate that this necklace is most likely the work of the Neiger Brothers, masters of Czech glass jewelry, however, their work can be difficult to identify because it was never signed.
Chain measures 17 3/4" long. The longest drop is 2" long. The Czech glass scarabs are 14 by 10 mm. In excellent vintage condition.
